In the Stadion Energa Gdańsk, there are 50 seats for persons on wheelchairs (located in upper promenade), as well as the adjacent seats for carers.
At each level of the stadium, there are rest rooms adapted for the disabled and they are equipped with the SOS system (transmitting information of the emergency to the Safety Center), as well as the visual and acoustic system.
Disabled persons get to her stand by the help of specially designed lifts and moving ramps. The lifts for wheelchairs can be found in the tunnel no. 1 and 2. In these lifts; there are information boards with texts written in the Braille alphabet. The stadium is also equipped with the audio description system – which provides a special sports commentary designed for the visually impaired, thus allowing them to visualize what is happening on the pitch. The audio description is transmitted via the radio network and you can receive it on a mobile phone or other device with the radio function.
Parking places for the disabled:
- On a daily basis - a free-of-charge car park P1
- When mass events are taking place (matches in particular) - the P5 or P3 car parks are available (there are 66 parking places designated for the disabled)
Due to the fact that the Stadion Energa Gdańsk is a disabled friendly place, it has been awarded the honourable mention in the 6th edition of the Contest: "A Friendly Place for Disabled Persons 2011" and it won a prize for the best disabled friendly facility in an international competition organized by IAKS International, the Olympic Committee (IOS) and International Paralympics Committee (IPC).
