Lechia Gdansk vs Karpaty Lwow football game
Sporty emotions at the highest level, culinary travel around the world and fun for the young ones. On Sunday, 9th September, our White-Green team will play a game with Ukrainian team – Karpaty Lwow at Stadion Energa Gdansk. The game will start at 18.30.

That day is worth spending togheter with Lechia Gdansk and amber arena. Two white-green teams, which shared a common history, will meet on the pitch to compete. During the football meeting will be present historical theme. Many of football players from Lechia Lwow – team founded in 1903 – has played also in Lechia Gdansk. For example, one of them was Alojzy Kuszlak – the co-founder of the Gdansk club.

In the Lechia Gdansk’s Museum at the Stadion Energa Gdansk, you can see his club card from 1947. In the period from 1927 to 1939, Ryszard Koncewicz represented Lechia Lwow. He led Lechia Gdansk from 1947, then to lead the national team. He is recognized to be one of the best polish football coaches in the history.

It is also worth reminding that in the season 2012/2013 Lechia Gdansk played with number ‘1903’ on their gaiters. It’s a reference to the date of establishment of Lechia Lwow, which was the first-ever football team founded by the Polish in Poland. In 1907, some of the players joined to Pogonia. Currently, the club no longer exists. Its activity was suspended in September 1939.

Although both teams take part in the highest national competitions, have never competed with each other in sports. Their debut is expected to be seen on 9th September on Stadion Energa Gdansk. The game will also be also a join combining the successful cooperation between Gdansk and Lviv. The ticket for the football match costs symbolic 5 zlotys.

Before the meeting, from 11.00, on the outside areas of the Stadium is scheduled a family picnic and the food trucks’ season finale. There will be also a lot of delicious treats from Thai, Belgian and molecular kitchen throughout all day. Ciabatta with prawns or chicken, Spanish churros or craft ice cream - these are just some of over 100 dishes.

The most known culinary enthusiasts, who have been spreading their love for a cookery among Polish for years, will be responsible for preparing snacks.

Attractions that could not be missing are favoured by children inflatables in the shapes of the Stadium and Nautulis sea world. There also will be a chance for the youngest sportsmen to play matches on a mobile football pitch.
