PGE ARENA on the podium again!

PGE ARENA on the podium again!

Yesterday the stadium in Gdańsk received the title "Najlepszy Obiekt Sportowy i Rekreacyjny 2012" ("The Best Sports and Leisure Facility 2012") in the competition under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Poland which was organised by the Polish Olympic Committee and the Polish Association for Development of Sport and Leisure Infrastructure IAKS Poland.

PGE ARENA sent its application to the competition as early as in September last year. The competition was open for functioning facilities from Poland which were built or modernised in the period of last five years and opened for use no later than until the end of December 2011. The organisers not only very clearly specified the requirements as regards the competition documentation: pictures of the facility, projections of storeys, sections, facades, maps of land were required, but also the local inspection was carried out during which the architects visiting Gdańsk checked the stadium in the very detail.

PGE ARENA, as the most famous amber in Poland, shared in the main award with the National Stadium. Therefore, the Gdańsk and Warszawa facility have been distinguished against a background of other stadiums in Poland. We hope that the world will soon again appreciate the beauty of the amber arena. The first place in the PKOI competition aspires to participate in an international part of the rivalry. Whether or not the stadium in Gdańsk will capture jurors' hearts in Cologne we will find out in autumn.
