A year after the Euro - It was worth it!

A year after the Euro - It was worth it!

Some of us - with the tickets to the stadium in their hands, others - having fun together with their friends in the Fan Zone at Plac Zebrań Ludowych. In general, the whole Gdańsk lived for Euro2012. Today at the press conference at the PGE ARENA the President Paweł Adamowicz and his deputy Andrzej Bojanowski were telling what Euro gave us apart from wonderful emotions a year ago.

The Presidents remained the journalists that all great road investment projects finished last year are an effect of the first decision from before a few years – offering Gdańsk to organise Euro2012. In order to organise Euro it was necessary to build the stadium, and as a result of the fact that stadium was built and the European Football Championship was planned in Poland, Gdańsk might apply for the EU funds for construction of roads.   - And so, we took into consideration the risk that it might happen that not all roads would be built before the first match of the Championships, and also the fact of the necessity to explain it before the EU – said the President Paweł Adamowicz to the journalists – It was worth undertaking to build the roads even with such risk, otherwise it is unknown when and if at all a route like Nowa Słowackiego would be ever built.
