3rd edition of Baltic Congress of Sport Marketing is over!
BKMS was organised this year by Arena Gdańsk Operator and Baltic Leisure Industry Cluster
Baltic Congress of Sport Marketing (BKMS) took place between 24-25th November in Stadion Energa Gdańsk. The event was completed with 1st edition of Sport in Digital Media Convent, BKMS Expo and the opening meeting of BKMS Policy Council. This year thanks to the cooperation with Sport Business School Finland the motto was “Passion, Respect and Fun.”
For two days Stadion Energa Gdańsk was the Baltic centre of discussions about sport marketing. The main val-ue was to look at sport as one of the key leisure industries. The participants of the debates and panels were respectable presidents of the boards such as Grażyna Piotrowska-Oliwa from Virgin Mobile, Krzysztof Czuba from Alior Bank, Artur Olech from Ubezpieczenia Sportowe (Sport Insurance) or Serge Ferré, the former vice president of Nokia Multimedia Group Strategy.
There were also representatives of small and medium businesses, local authorities, federations and sport clubs, non-governmental organisations and journalist and marketers. The Congress was hosted by Bożydar Iwanow, a sport commentator and Mariusz Stachnik, the President of Mazowiecki Cluster ICT Management Board (one of the seven key clusters in Polish economy).
The President of Policy Council is Grażyna Piotrowska-Oliwa. Among the members there are Adam Sawicki, the President of T-Mobile Polska Management Board, Wojciech Szpil, the President of Totalizator Sportowy Man-ageent Board, Andrzej Tersa, the President of Energa Management Board, Justyna Wajs-Jakimczyk, the Presi-dent of Atena UIF Management Board as well as Polish prominent sportsmen such as Robert Korzeniowski, Otylia Jędrzejczak, Mateusz Kusznierewicz. The members of the Committee are also Andrzej Bojanowski, the Deputy Mayor of Gdańsk, Andrzej Kraśnicki, the President of Polish Olympics Committee Management Board, Jan de Zeeuw, a close coworker of Leo Beenhakker and Dr Stanisław Kluza, the former Minister for Finance and the chairman of Polish Financial Supervision Authority.
- I am glad that we can have here outstanding lecturers from the business and sport world. It is essential to exchange the information among these two environments, to discuss expectations, possibilities and cooperation perspectives, said Tomasz Kowalski, the President of Arena Gdańsk Operator Management Board, who is also responsible for managing Stadion Energa Gdańsk. The speeches were made by people with a great prac-tical experience and they were the source of inspirations for many BKMS participants. Not without reason our stadium is chosen by businessmen. The sport atmosphere makes it a perfect place to sign very important contracts. As far as I know 3rd edition of BKMS has been the beginning of at least few significant agreements. Networking is a very important part of the Congress.
We were delighted to have the opportunity to welcome such amazing people as: Adam Karol, the Olympic Champion in rowing, Jan Błachowicz, the main Polish MMA fighter, Przemysław Miarczyński, the Olympic med-alist in windsurfing, Marcin Lijewski, the former captain of Polish National Handball Team, Marcin Herra, the Vice-president of Polish Handball Federation, Adam Manikowski, Tesco Polska Managing Director and Maciej Zinkiewicz, Minor Capuchin Order Friar.
All participants could interact during the banquet held in FUN ARENA, the biggest Pomeranian recreation cen-tre located in Stadion Energa Gdańsk, play a table tennis match with major-league Academic Sport Association players from Gdańsk Academy of Physical Education or take part in the competition in which they had to drop a rugby ball into the cement-mixer.
Establishing the Policy Council will lead not only to consistent increasing of the competency and proficiency, but also to a positive surprise for the participants of the next Congress editions. BKMS was organised this year by Arena Gdańsk Operator and Baltic Leisure Industry Cluster.
